Sawyer's first food

We were all eating dinner with little Saywer watching intently from his jumper. He kept opening his mouth and making smacking sounds with his tongue, so we decided it was his turn. As has become a tradition in the Crawford house, the older brother feeds the younger his first bite. Chaucer took this job very seriously and did an extraordinary job. Sawyer even seemed interested for a bit. It's been a week now and he still will only swallow about a teaspoon's worth of rice cereal once a day, but at least we're practicing! (For the record Sawyer' first bite was on 3-11-10, 5 1/2 months old)

More Birthday Party Pictures

Green T-Rex Pinata.

Sandbox dig for dinosaur skeleton bones and rocks.

And Xander's NEW bike from Grandma and PePaw! PePaw was so patient teaching him just how to pedal... now he's learning to riding really well and he loves wearing all his protective gear. (thanks to Auntie Megan for that!)

Too much BIRTHDAY!!!

As if he hadn't celebrated enough already, Xander requested a Dinosaur party (of course). It just so happened that God gave us some beautiful weather and we were able to have his friends over and party outside! Here's a shot of us with his T-Rex cake.

Here comes your cake!

I have other pics of the party that I'd like to load, but either I am or my blog is being difficult right now. Stay tuned... :)
As far as blogging this week.... Sawyer's nap ended abruptly when the sound machine decided to stop.... I'll try to catch up later!

A few fun, random pictures from this month...

"Robin, Soaring." Each morning Xander and Chaucer take turns jumping from Xander's bed, fists firmly on their hips announcing themselves. Since Chaucer is always Robin, he exclaims "Robin... Soaring." Then jumps. When Chaucer is Robin, he has much more bravery then when he is just Chaucer. At Chuck-E-Cheese, he was scared of the 'Big Rat' at first but I called him to come see and he said, "Robin's not scared" and ran straight for Chuck-E.

Typical after-nap routine... reading, playing, laughing... Sawyer loves his big brothers!

Another great way to pass the afternoon blues... jamming to some music. (And they are so blue when the weather has been too cold to go out in). Chaucer beats his drums and dances away. Xander usually sits quietly and listens closely to the music and guesses which instruments are playing. He was really excited though when he realized he could be more involved. He found a step stool and a 'baton' pointed his finger intentionally and began directing the music. I'm not sure who I should thank for this one... either Uncle Chick or Leo (of the Little Einsteins).

This picture has been a long time coming... "A Little Bear Bum"

Thanks, Kacie! Don't I look snugly and cute?! (Sawyer, 5 mths)

Xander's 4th Birthday

On Monday, March 1st Xander turned 4 years old! We celebrated all day beginning with Mickey Mouse chocolate chip pancakes! Chaucer obviously enjoyed this as well!

Opening presents... (the green T-Rex he asked for)

I can't figure out how to re-arrange the order of the pictures, so here's breakfast again!

And opening mail. This one he received directly from the mailman. Xander is always so thrilled if we're outside when the mail truck turns down our street. He was even more thrilled to see his name on the card. THANKS OMA and POPPI!
We also played and had lunch at Chick-fil-A with friends and finished the day at Chuck-E-Cheese with Daddy. Pretty much a kid's perfect day!

Meet the Boys!

Here they are. The three little monkeys this blog is all about.
On the Left, we have Chaucer. Or "C-Dog." Crawford boy #2. He's almost 2 1/2, and almost as tall as his older brother. Chaucer is known for his deep raspy voice that can articulate words far beyond his age. ("Actually, that's a T-Rex"). Though a T-Rex is what he sounds like whenever he yells! He loves music. Especially if it's loud and has a beat. (Wonder which parent he takes after?) He'll drum and dance all day. When playing super-heroes, he is always Batman's "Robin" or "The Bad Guy". And he's pretty good at both! He prefers his mac-n-cheese sprinkled with Parmesan cheese (and he will request this himself), and he always passes on the jelly and takes his peanut butter sandwiches with honey. My two favorite things he says wrong are, "Mommy, can you open-en-en it?" and "Iwelcome" instead of "You're welcome".
Front and center is our newest member, Sawyer. Also known as "Sawyer Bean" "Soy Bean" or just "Bean." He's the happiest baby I've ever met. He just loves making eye contact with people and smiling at them-- even if he's tired or sad. He'll laugh when he's tickled and giggle at his crazy older brothers. He's the most laid back since his schedule is determined by what's going on with the other two boys. He's already a mover. Rolling his way around the living room to different toys is his new favorite game.
And then there's Xander. X-Man for short. He's almost 4 years old now! His newest obsession is anything dinosaur. He devours any dinosaur book he can find and can pronounce names like Ankelusaurus and Iguanadon as well as tell you what they prefer to eat and how they catch their prey. Of course this new obsession has lead to the digging of a few new holes in our backyard and a little brother covered in dirt... but no signs of dinosaur bones in Bentonville yet! Xander is learning to enjoy learning at preschool this year although I'm pretty sure his favorite class is recess! He would never touch man-n-cheese but would eat an entire avocado in one sitting. He's always Batman, and decided Mommy is Batgirl and Sawyer is Batbaby. He always saves us from the bad guy... Chaucer, of course.
More to come on all these guys... I hope you enjoy their stories!
